Update on Flat Stanley

We have had so much fun with our Flat Stanley, alias other names, project.   Students have been working on displays for their Flat Stanley exhibition on January 10, 2013.  The students have learned so many skills  as they learn about the city and state that their Flat person visited.  We still have about 10 Flat people still out and we are very eager to see where they have visited.  One sent pictures for Flat Azikwe who is visiting in Sugar Hill, Georgia......Wow!!! That sounds like my kind of place.  Mr. Land and I were so thrilled to be able to take Flat Lacey and Flat Blake through Nashville, TN and Alabama on our recent trip to those places.  Flat Lacey had been visiting with Mrs. Land's son, Jeff at the Lifeway building where he works.  Of course, he put her to work right away editing and publishing some of his articles for Lifeway.  Pictures are below!!! ENJOY!!!
Flat People welcome Host Abbey home after she ran in the Ragnar Race from Chattanooga to Nashville.

Mrs. Land's grandson, Will, considered giving the Flat People a makeover.....Mrs. Land rescued them.

The Flat people posed on the StarRock of Reba and two Mississippi singers:  Elvis Presley and Marty Stuart!  Wow!

Mrs. Land had to coax Baby Tuck to give Flat Lacey and Flat Blake back!

Can you find the Flat people in this picture......You are right.....They are not in here, but it was a great opportunity for Mrs. Land to brag on her sweet grandchildren.

Farmers in Springfield, TN grow tobacco as their crop......Flat Blake says, "Do Not SMOKE!"

Mrs. Land and Joshi took the Flat People to the Southern Baptist Convention.

Joshi enjoyed the sideshows.

The Flat People wanted a t-shirt so Mr. Land bought them one!

We went home through Alabama....Mrs. Land was born in Alabama.  The Flat People loved seeing the huge spaceship at the welcome center.

Flat Lacey tried to blow away in the wind.

Upcoming Events for Quest

Students in the fourth grade Quest classes have the following events to look forward to:

December 7, 2012   Students will go shopping for Christmas gifts for someone in the Veteran's Nursing Home.

December 12, 2012  Students will visit the nursing home and give gifts to one of the residents.

January 10, 2013  Students will show their Flat Stanley exhibits to administrators, board members and family and friends!

The students are very excited about all of the above events.  Remember to bring at least $2.00 for the gifts for the person in the nursing home.   It would be wonderful if students could wear a Christmas shirt or a shirt with the Christmas colors.  Also, if your child has a Santa Hat or Deer Antlers, that would be really cute for them to wear.  This is not a necessary item.....but they can wear if they already have them.

Have a Great Week!   Anne Land
